Gambling Machines Confiscated In Conecuh County

Keith Fleming from Conecuh County was arrested last Monday on illegal gambling charges.

The BP station owned and operated by Keith Fleming was operating five slot machines.

U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Alabama Bureau of Investigation raided the BP station located on Interstate Sixty Five.

The raid took place last Wednesday, but Attorney Tommy Chapman of Conecuh County District said that the owner Fleming was not located until the following Monday.

He was charged with five counts of possession of illegal gambling devices and another count for promoting gambling.

He posted fifteen thousand dollars bail bond for his release.

Fleming is questioning the charges as according to him there are around fifty to sixty machines that are operating nationwide.

According to Attorney Chapman the slot machines were confiscated after a through investigation was made.

Chapman said that the slot machines is offering cash prizes to its players.

According to the authorities, they have issued repeated warnings for the past several months to the business owners who own and operates illegal gambling machines.

And they are expecting that the arrest of Fleming and the confiscation of his illegal slot machines will send a stern message to other owners of illegal gambling machines.
