Hollywood Slots To Relocate Slots Operation to Permanent Facility

On June 28th, 2008, the move is already set in motion for Hollywood Slots. Less than 3 years after it opened for business with its 475 slot machines in a temporary facility at the former Miller's Restaurant located on Maine Street, Hollywood Slots at Bangor, Maine is set to relocate to a bigger $132 million which will be named Hollywood Slots Hotel and Raceway. Parent organization Penn National Gaming Incorporated started building the facility in the spring of 2007, which is located at 500 Main St. near the Penobscot River bank.

Aside from the one thousand slot machines, which is double the amount of slot machines that the gaming facility is now offering to their customers, it will also feature a 7 story hotel, a buffet area and small restaurant, a retail shop and a 4 level parking area.

Hollywood spokesperson Amy Kenney commented that the permanent facility will be as big as a Wal-Mart Supercenter. General Manager John Johnson said that they are ready for the move. The temporary slots facility will close on Sunday night. The lower area will close at 6:00 p.m. and the upper area will close at 8:00 p.m.

All of the slot machines at the temporary facility will be move to the permanent facility. The temporary facility will re-open for a VIP charity event on Monday evening. Johnson said that the VIP poker charity event will serve as their dry run for their opening on July 1st, 2008.
