International Game Technology to Install Slot Machines at Boyd Gaming Casino Facilities

International Game Technology (IGT), the world's biggest manufacturer of slot machines, announced on July 29th, 2009 that it has entered into an agreement with Boyd Gaming Corporation to place around two hundred additional MegaJackpots machines at Boyd Gaming casino facilities across the US. The brand new, wide-area progressive slot machines will be added to the more than eight hundred MegaJackpots games already running at Boy Gaming's fifteen casino facilities nationwide.

Tom Mikulich, International Game Technology's vice president of MegaJackpots said that they are very excited to have the chance to continue to give their complete array of games to Boyd Gaming facilities. He said that IGT continues to create and manage some of the most interesting gaming products available that offer gamers some of the world's biggest slot machine jackpots and well-known themes like Wheel Fortune. He added that they also have a long list of new games being released all the time.

The placement of additional MegaJackpots machines at Boyd Gaming facilities is already underway and is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2009. The Boyd announcement follows IGT's announcement last week that it is installing about three hundred of its Wheel of Fortune slot machines into MGM Mirage casino facilities. IGT officials said that it was adding those slot machines to gaming floors immediately with work expected to be finalized by the end of August 2009.

The MegaJackpots branded gaming machines include linked progressive slot machines like Megabucks, eBay, Star Wars, The Price Is Right and multi-level progressive slot machines like Fort Knox and Indiana Jones. While linked progressives are popular for their progressive jackpot, they are also among the lowest returning slot machines in the casino facility based on the casino edge.
