Profits from Pennsylvania Slot Machines Exceeded Expectations

With the slot machines located at all 4 racing tracks and casinos in Pennsylvania exceeding expectations that were made by analysts last year, it is little wonder that the Meadows Casino cannot wait to debut their brand new casino in Washington County on June 11, 2007.

According to the records held by the state Gaming Control Board that day, the Mohegan Sun at the Pocono Downs, Philadelphia Park, the Harrah's Chester Downs and the Presque Isle Dows are earning a significant amount more profit from each of their slot machines than had been predicted in mid-2006 by the state's gaming control board.

In all situations except the Philadelphia Park, the "win per day" amounts for each electronic slot machine exceeded the estimates made by the casino.

At the Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre, the "win per day" for each slot machine was $434 in May, $456 in April and $429 in March.

Before it opened for business, the gaming board employees predicted that the casino would earn a total of $180 per day per slot machine, while the officials of the Mohegan Sun put their average estimate at $230 per day per slot machine.

The second racetrack and casino in Pennsylvania was the Philadelphia Park in Bucks County, which opened in December 2006 with 2,143 slot machines. The casino's win per day last May was $354 per slot machine; $366 in April, and $364 in March.

For the Harrah's Chester Downs located south of Philadelphia, the win per day per machine was $294 in May; $297 in April and $285 in March. For the Presque Isle Downs in Erie, the casino's 2,000 slot machines earn $233 per day in May, higher than the estimated $161 per day by the gaming board.
