3-Star Slot Machine Strategy

Up the Steps is a slot machine strategy in which the player changes the level of betting with a single loss or win. Many players are of the view that a single loss or win is not sufficient to establish a losing or winning streak and hence players need to persist at the same level for some more time. Many players also prefer a dedicated betting slot machine strategy because randomly changing betting levels during the play causes confusion. If all goes well the player will follow the sequence till the end. However if the player draws “naked numbers” he will discontinue playing at that level and shift to the next level. A naked number is ideally set at 40% of the length of a betting level in the betting sequence, but it varies between 30% and 50%. In the sequence given above for the 3 star slot machine strategy, each betting level has 10 bets and therefore the naked number is 4. The player starts with betting 3 coins. If he loses four times he shifts to the next level of 2-coin bets immediately, otherwise he does so after completing the ten 3-coin bets.

Conservative players use the 3 star slot machine strategy with loss limiting techniques that call for complete stoppage of play. For example they may set naked pulls at 8. They keep on counting their losing bets and stop the session when the number of losing bets reaches 8. In the above example suppose that the player reaches his fourth loss while betting with three coins, he shifts to betting with two coins. Then if he suffers four losses with 2-coin bets, he does not shift to the level of 1-coin bets as per the naked number requirement, but he ends the session altogether as per the naked pulls requirement. Alternatively a player may use a loss limits slot machine strategy to end the playing session. A 50% loss limit means that the player will stop playing when his bankroll is halved.

The 3 star slot machine strategy described above has a decreasing sequence of bets and is based on minimizing losses. This strategy can work the other way around. The sequence can be of increasing bet levels such as 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3. Now the player counts wins instead of losses. If he registers four wins (or whatever the naked number used) at a given level he immediately shifts to the higher level. Finally sequences that both decrease and increase are also used. If the next part of the sequence involves a higher betting level the player counts the wins otherwise he counts the losses.
