Bid Loser To Appeal Poconos Slots Casino License Decision

February 11, 2007, the unsuccessful applicant, Pocono Manor Investors, in the slots casino bid in the Poconos says that they will appeal the decision made by the state Gaming Control Board to give the slots license to Louis DeNaples.

December 20, 2007, the state Gaming Control Board decided to award the stand-alone license to Louis DeNaples, who is the chief and head of the proposed Mount Airy Casino establishment located in the Poconos. Both the Pocono Manor Investors and Mr. Louis DeNaples were in the bid for one of the two slot machines licenses for stand-alone casinos that are located outside of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The gaming board commented that they liked the plan presented by Mr. DeNaples' to revive and bring a lot of new business to the shut down Mount Airy Lodge, which is a former resort located at the Poconos, which is much better and well-thought of compared to the plan presented by the Pocono Manor to construct a 23-story casino facility at a site that are located a few miles away.
