California Gaming Commission Allows Indian Tribes to Offer More Slot Machines

A state gaming commission decided on October 6th, 2009 that tribal-owned casino facilities in the state of California will be permitted to add more than three thousand slot machines tom their gaming offering.

California's gaming commission agreed to approve new slot machines after a federal court ruled that some Indian casino facilities were due them under the gaming compacts signed with the state of California.

Most of the new slot machines will go to the tribes in Northern California but some slot machines will go to casino facilities in northern San Diego County and the Inland Empire.

According to the California Gaming Control Commission, some of the slot machines are going to: Blue Lake Rancheria, 40 slot machines; Big Sandy Band Rancheria of Mono Indians, 1,650 slot machines; Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community, 427 slot machines; Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, 44 slot machines; Mooretown Rancheria of Maidu Indians, 45 slot machines; Middletown Rancheria of Pomo Indians, 100 slot machines; Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians, 200 slot machines, Paskenta Band of Nomalki Indians, 27 slot machines; San Pasqual Band of Diegueno Mission Indians, 428 slot machines; Rincon Band of San Luiseno Mission Indians, 400 slot machines and Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians, 187 slot machines.
