Century and River Cree Casinos Receive More Slot Machines

October 19, 2007. The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission has provided 83 more machines for Century and River Cree casinos.

Century Casino, which is located at 13103 Fort Road, has added 56 more to its existing 600 slot machines, raising its total to 656.

But it was River Cree Casino at the west of Edmonton which was given the higher number of slot machines.

Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, through its spokesperson Marilyn Carlyle-Helms, said that River Cree now has 689 slot machines from the previous 606.

Other casinos in Edmonton were also given additional slot machines, but lesser than those of Century and River Cree.

Four more Edmonton casinos and the Edmonton Northlands Spectrum, received a total of thirty-two newer slot machines, accumulating a total allocation of 3,253 slot machines over-all.

Marilyn Carlyle-Helms explained that the additional slot machines they gave were based on the space available for the slot machines as well as the amount of revenue generated by the casinos' existing machines.

According to Carlyle-Helms, among the casinos in Edmonton areas, it was only River Cree and Century gaming casinos which are able to surpass, or if not, meet projections.

The two cited casinos also have the enough space available and have the busiest heavy activities resulting to a demand for more slot machines.
