Philadelphia Park Officials Say They Need More Slots for Their Customers

On April 11, 2007, the Philadelphia Park Casino, which opened only 4 months ago, commented that almost $1 billion have already been wagered at their casino since their opening day. They are planning to petition the state so that they can add more slot machines to supplement the demand of their customers.

With about 7,000 customers visiting the Philadelphia Park Casino, David Jonas, Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia Park Casino, commented that they have already asked the state gaming board if they could offer additional slot machines to handle the demands of their customers. The Park plans to add 336 slot machines, bringing the total up to 2,412 slot machines.

Jonas also commented that he is hoping to add new bars and restaurants in the area if the application is approved by the gaming board. Police officers in the area have reported no drastic increase in crime since the Philadelphia Park Casino opened on December 12, 2007.

Bensalem District Judge, Leonard Brown, commented that he is surprised that things have been generally peaceful so far. In his opinion, the casino is a great asset to Bensalem.
