Real Estate Agent Hits $1 Million Slots Jackpot

When Dennis Shields' mother came to California for a visit from Tennessee, he wanted to show her just how elegant and stylish California casinos are.

So on December 14th, Shields and his mother visited the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln. Shields chose the casino for its Vegas-like feel and jokingly gave his mother "how to become an instant millionaire" lessons.

Little did he know that lady luck would be smiling down on him and was about to make his wildest dreams come true.

Shields hit the jackpot at the $5 Wheel of Fortune slot machine, winning $1,004,038.

"Once the 3 logos lined up, I was in shock, but nothing was happening and the machine was silent," said Shields.

"Once the attendant arrived, I realized I'd won a million dollars. I tried to call my wife, who was in total disbelief, but she finally came over to see what I'd won," he added.

But despite his big win, Shields says that he plans to keep working as a real estate agent.

"On behalf of the Casino team members, a huge 'congratulations' to Mr. Shields," said Thunder Valley Casino General Manager, Scott Garawitz. "This is just another great example of all the exciting possibilities for our patrons here at Thunder Valley."
